The WS-12 is a 1000 W subwoofer designed for the studio and stage. With a frequency extension of up to 23 Hz and 123 dB maximum SPL, it delivers an authoritative low end in any setup.

The WS-12 subwoofer is the most powerful studio subwoofer available under $1,000. It is designed to work with any near- and mid-field studio monitors, as well as with small portable PA systems in concert settings.

One of the key design specifications for the WS-12 is that it is capable of providing bass management in a 5.1 system where all the full-range speakers are Kali IN-8s. The WS-12 is powered by a 1000W power amplifier coupled to a 12-inch high-excursion transducer.

This high power also makes the WS-12 an effective subwoofer for live applications. Its housing is made of 18 mm plywood and has handles for easy carrying. The Kali team made sure that it would fit in small passenger cars. This means you can take it with you even when you ask for a ride to a concert!

All this power is controlled by a robust, user-friendly DSP section that allows you to dial in the exact settings you need for your system. Whether you're using it with a pair of LP-6s, as bass management in a 5.1 system, or on stage with a PA, the WS-12 can be easily configured to get exactly what you need.

DSP functions

Selectable crossovers – WS-12 has the ability to select crossovers every 20 Hz in the range from 40 Hz to 140 Hz.
Gain control - 6 dB steps allow easy adjustment between settings in free space, against walls or in corners.
Polarization – Reverses the polarity of the crossover to obtain better phase response in the system.
Footswitch – To listen to the mix on full-range speakers, bypass the subwoofer by pressing the Bypass button.

For use with Kali Audio monitors

The WS-12 was designed as a companion subwoofer for Kali Audio's LP and IN series studio monitors.

When used with a pair of Kali Audio monitors, the subwoofer's crossover and gain settings can be configured to exactly match the settings of the full-range monitors. After selecting these parameters, place the subwoofer between the speakers and turn the volume knob of all speakers to the 12 o'clock or maximum position. The subwoofer level will be exactly what is needed to match the full range speakers.

The WS-12 can be used to manage bass in systems as large as 5.1 with any Kali monitors.

Convenient settings allow for the use of an external crossover, and the WS-12 can even be configured as a dedicated low-frequency effects channel.

For use with other monitors

The WS-12's high power and deep frequency response make it an excellent choice for any near- or mid-field monitor - not just those made by Kali Audio!

With selectable crossovers every 20 Hz from 40 to 140 Hz, it can be easily adapted to any system. Thanks to the 1000 W power amplifier, it is able to keep up with very powerful studio monitors.

The WS-12 can be used to manage bass in systems as large as 5.1 with near-field studio monitors. The WS-12 can even be configured as a dedicated low-frequency effects channel.

For concert use

WS-12 has handles for easy carrying and a solid casing made of 18 mm thick wood. It is small enough to fit in most small passenger cars, making it an excellent choice for small, mobile PA systems.

One WS-12 is enough for use with small all-in-one PA systems such as Yamaha® StagePAS® or Fender® Passport® or all-in-one linear PA systems such as Bose® L1® or LD Systems® Maui®.

Two WS-12s can be used side by side for larger systems. By using two subwoofers side by side, the total SPL of the system will be 129 dB with a frequency extension of up to 23 Hz.
