The new series is based on the already popular ART 910-A, ART 912-A and ART 915-A loudspeaker sets. They were very well received thanks to the linear phase response, very good sound with a nice soft treble thanks to the use of modern polymide-kapton diaphragms and high efficiency. We invite you to read the RCF ART 910-A test! These advantages are now joined by long-awaited features in the ART 9-AX series - a mixer and Bluetooth for audio streaming and mixer control.
Acoustically and power wise, the new models are no different from the "classic" ART 9-A series. RCF approached the design of the ART 9-AX series uncompromisingly - the new models have 2.4" LCD touch screens installed and easy to use. The two main inputs are equipped with THAT Corporation's high-end, low-noise mic/line preamps. Combined with high-end analog-to-digital converters operating at 32-bit (!) resolution and 48 kHz sampling frequency, the analog inputs offer 42 dB gain, +48V phantom power for both inputs independently for condenser microphones and active DI-BOXes, dynamics 114 dB and distortion <0.005% A-Weighted. Signal can be input via combo XLR/1/4” jacks. Internally, the signal is processed by DSP with 24-bit accuracy and 110d dynamic range
Digital mixer and DSP processor
The built-in mixer supports two mono channels on combo XLR/1/4" jacks with the ability to pair them in stereo, a stereo 3-4 AUX stereo 1/8" mini-jack input, and a stereo Bluetooth input 5-6 that can function as mono or stereo - with a link to the second speaker. The compressor is available on mic/line channels 1-2.
Unique possibilities
The output section is equipped with delay lines and a switchable EASY / ADVANCED EQ mode (3-band EQ, 5-band EQ, shelf + 24 dB/oct. HPF filter, faded from 20 Hz to 400 Hz). Processing is independent for the internal speakers and for the XLR output. The XLR output can work in mono, stereo - as the right channel and in crossover mode, for example as a sub-bass output. Delay comes in two forms. Firstly, for the SUB mode as a relative delay of the top to the sub-bass with values defined in the range from -10 ms to +10 ms. Secondly, as a delay for the zone loudspeaker - both for the loudspeaker itself and for the external one connected to the XLR output. In this case, the maximum delay value is 136 ms, which translates to about 46 meters (depending on air temperature). This functionality allows you to use a setup consisting of, for example, 2 pairs of ART 9-A loudspeakers and one ART 9-AX: the first pair of ART 9-A works as the main sound system, the pair of ART 9-AX works as the first zone receiving a signal from the front XLR OUT speaker sets. The delay for the first zone is set in the ART 9-AX, and the second zone with a separate delay setting is powered by the signal coming out via XLR OUT
